Welcome to the website for the Dublin District Coroner

The death of a loved one is a distressing time. It is a time when a deceased person must be treated with respect, and the families of a deceased with compassion. This website provides information to bereaved families if a death is reported to us.

Our For Families area provides information on what family members can expect if a death is reported to the coroner, or when a postmortem examination or an inquest into the death of a loved one is needed.

For Families explains how the coronial system works, how families are kept informed of developments, what information and documents they can get, and what supports and advice are available to them from other service providers.
